How to make rotating images for toy bricks in PSP 8

Download the files required for this tutorial here

Once you have unzipped the files create a folder on your hard drive name it picturespin (or whatever you like) and place the jpgs f1 to f7 in it.

Navigate to Local Disc (C) - My documents - My PSP 8 files - Scripts trusted and place all 6 picturespin script files in it (Jasc PSP Script)

Open up PSP8 and check that you have all 6 picturespin script files.

Click View - toolbars - script to make sure that you have the script toolbar on display

You should have all picture spin scripts as illustration above

Make sure that the Interactive Script playback toggle is not highlighted

Open up the image you want to use and crop it square then Image - resize 600 x 600 pixels
Do not worry too much if it is pixilated

I have used a picture of my cat Tia

Zoom to a usable size to suit your screen using the middle wheel on your mouse

Using the browser navigate to your picturespin folder

Drag out f.1 from browser, zoom with middle wheel to suit, rename it A1 and then select your image (I will refer to it as Tia from now on) by clicking on top border to highlight it blue.

Run Selected script picturespin1 by clicking on arrow

If you have left it in interactive playback mode you will have to click OK to each dialogue box - for picturespin2 turn off playback toggle

You should have something like this

Copy Tia Edit - copy and then highlight A1 that you dragged out earlier and Edit paste as a new layer

You should have something like this

With the tool move Tia to align as close as possible over the darker green"brick side"

Save this image keeping the name as A1 and clicking YES to merged image dialogue box.

Close A1- highlight "Tia" and then click the undo button to return the picture square.

Drag out f.2 - rename A2 and repeat as we did with A1 but using picturespin2 script on "Tia"

Drag out f.3 - rename A3 and repeat as we did with A1 but using picturespin3 script on "Tia"

Drag out f.4 - rename A4 but just copy and paste the 600 x 600 image of "Tia" into A4 and save

Drag out f.5 - rename A5 and repeat as we did with A1 but using picturespin5 script on "Tia"

Drag out f.6 - rename A6 and repeat as we did with A1 but using picturespin6 script on "Tia"

Drag out f.7 - rename A7 and repeat as we did with A1 but using picturespin7 script on "Tia"

Close everything and then open Animation Shop
File- Jasc software Products - Launch animation shop

Open the animation wizard File - animation wizard
Select same size as first image on first dialogue box
Select transparent on next dialogue box
Leave settings on third next box
Select repeat animation and frame display as 10 seconds on next dialogue box

Then add images, files of type JPG , select file A1 to A7 from "picturespin" folder and arrange as below

Click next and Finish

You should have something like this

Make the background transparent - Animation - replace colour -select all frames use the eye dropper to select the background green colour. You will have to experiment with the tolerance setting as it will sometimes make part of the image transparent , if it does use a lower setting until your image is opaque and the background is transparent

Click OK and then Animation - resize and resize to 8% of original.

File - Save - save as best quality on pointer, click customize button and on partial transparency tab use these settings

Save to folder of your choice and name as required

You can now apply your image using this tutorial

Right Click and "save picture as" to a folder on your hard drive.

A link back to Sevenoaks Art would be appreciated if animations are used on your site
